“Blooming Days (Hide in Flowers)”
Shinsegae Department Store Centum City, Busan, South Korea, 2024
Date: 2024.03.08 - 06.30
Location: Shinsegae Department Store Centum City, Busan, South Korea
Given Theme: Hide in Flowers
There are currently two major photography trends in Korea. One is the self-shooting studio, where individuals enter a private room to take their own photos. The other trend is the photo booth, which allows users to print images while incorporating unique fashion items provided by the booth.
Inspired by these trends and the theme of Hide in Flowers, I designed a unique photo studio. The studio features patterns derived from the decomposition of flowers, allowing visitors to wear matching patterned clothing and take photos while blending seamlessly into the background, creating a camouflaged effect.
Additionally, visitors can engage in a creative activity by attaching magnetic flower parts to a large frame on the wall, crafting and collaging their own personalized art pieces.
The main patterns used in the room are disassembled flower patterns, which are derived from deconstructing various floral elements. These patterns form the backdrop and clothing designs, creating a cohesive and immersive floral camouflage experience.
Detailed Photos
Photo Spot
People can wear patterned clothes and take photos, blending seamlessly into the background, much like becoming part of a picture frame on the wall.
Magnet Play
The magnet play zone in “Blooming Days: Hide in Flowers” offers an interactive art experience, allowing visitors to reassemble the flower components used by the artist and create their own unique pieces within the artwork.
Participants can design their own patterns, faces, flowers, letters, and more by attaching the specially designed magnets to a large frame mounted on the wall, making each creation a personalized masterpiece.
